Abu Dhabi developer Aldar and Sharjah-based Arada have signed a partnership valued at Dh15 billion ($4 billion), according to The National on 30 September 2026. It covers two separate pieces of work: a new master-planned community on the Abu Dhabi–Dubai border and additional residential land on Yas Island. For Arada, the deal marks the company's first move into the Abu Dhabi market.
The central element is a joint venture at Seih Sdeirah, a site on the border between the two emirates. The National reports the community will cover up to 1.5 million square metres and mix villas, townhouses, retail and recreational amenities. Under the agreement, Arada leads development and construction management, while the two companies jointly handle branding and sales.
Separately, Arada has acquired three residential plots on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Their combined area is more than 27,500 square metres, according to The National, and two of the sites face the island's canal. No unit counts or completion dates were given for either project.
A new community on the Abu Dhabi–Dubai border widens the choice of master-planned addresses between the two cities, an area that appeals to buyers who work in one emirate and prefer to live near the other. The presence of two developers on one plan can also mean a broader product range within a single community.
The Yas Island plots add residential supply to an established residential and leisure district, including canal-facing sites. Buyers should note that pricing, unit sizes, layouts and handover dates have not been published; these are the points to confirm directly with the developers once sales stages open.
